NAWIC Member Spotlight: Jordan (Di Franco) De Tullio

Marketing Coordinator, CBIZ | NAWIC Cleveland Member since 2022

Jordan De Tullio wears many hats: marketer, advocate, volunteer, retired hairstylist, home renovator, and cat rescuer. She brings warmth and authenticity to each role. As a Marketing Coordinator at CBIZ, Jordan supports Central Region markets, including the firm’s construction industry practices in cities such as Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, and Indianapolis. Beyond her regional work, she has championed a series of national initiatives at CBIZ, including support for Women In Construction Week and the Annual National Construction Survey. Her focus is on building strategic marketing plans for accounting and financial services tailored to the AEC industry, a field she has grown passionate about due to her deep family roots in construction.

Jordan’s connection to the Northeast Ohio construction industry spans four generations, beginning with her grandfather and great-grandfather, who initially worked as manual trench diggers on construction sites after immigrating from Italy in the 1960s. After Jordan’s father was born, her grandfather founded a company specializing in basement waterproofing, plumbing, and sewer cleaning. Naturally, Jordan’s father grew up working summers in the family business alongside his father, grandfather, and uncles. When Jordan was young, her father earned his MBA from The University of Akron. Today, he serves as the CFO of an Akron-based construction firm.

This family evolution inspired Jordan, even though her early career took a different path. Unlike her peers, Jordan spent her final two years of high school immersed in a unique educational experience. As a high school junior, she began her college studies full-time at Cleveland State University through Ohio’s College Credit Plus Program while also attending Cuyahoga Valley Career Center’s (CVCC) Cosmetology Program full-time. This dual commitment allowed her to graduate from Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School as both a licensed cosmetologist and an upperclassman at Cleveland State University, where she studied Marketing and Public Relations.

After high school, Jordan officially moved onto Cleveland State University’s campus to continue her studies and was promoted to stylist at the salon where she had interned. Balancing college with her cosmetology career, she marketed herself to sustain her education. “The pressure was on as soon as I moved to Cleveland. I had to figure out how to build my client base as a stylist. I essentially began my career in marketing professional services without even realizing it,” she laughs. “It’s challenging to put yourself through college, but being able to market myself made it possible. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my career in cosmetology. Everyone in my circle, including my now-husband Anthony, my salon clients and colleagues, as well as my CSU classmates and professors, cheered me on throughout that journey, and I am forever grateful.”

Initially, Jordan planned to take on a corporate role in the cosmetology industry after college, but the COVID-19 pandemic led her to reimagine her career path. She pivoted to professional services marketing and began her marketing career at CBIZ, a nationally ranked construction accounting services provider. She quickly immersed herself in the construction industry and joined NAWIC in 2022, seeing it as an opportunity to build a supportive community for herself and other women at her firm. “The women in my office who specialize in construction accounting services didn’t really have a space of their own to connect with the industry locally. NAWIC felt like the right place to build that.” She has encouraged four colleagues to join, with two more on the way.

Jordan values NAWIC as a vital space for women in a male-dominated industry. “Coming from the cosmetology industry, where I was surrounded by female colleagues who made a tremendous impact on my growth as both a person and a professional throughout my college years, I recognized the importance of connecting with other women in your field. NAWIC is a place where you can find your voice, your community, and be empowered to make meaningful connections across the industry as a whole.”

Jordan’s commitment to the community extends beyond her professional life. When she and her husband, Anthony, bought a fixer-upper in a Cleveland suburb, they unknowingly inherited a colony of stray cats from the home’s former owner. Jordan collaborated with her neighbors to capture and rehome at-risk stray kittens and partnered with PetFix Northeast Ohio to implement a neighborhood trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. “I thought I was just getting a house to renovate,” she joked. “But I ended up running a whole rescue effort too.”

Today, Jordan and Anthony share their home with four cats—Sylvie, Eevee, Frankie, and Penny—and she occasionally fosters more. Her weekends are spent hiking in the Metroparks, tackling home improvement projects, and dreaming of her next trip to her family’s homeland in Isernia, Italy.

For her future with NAWIC, Jordan is excited to explore leadership opportunities, including a potential role as chapter secretary. She views NAWIC as a welcoming, supportive space where early-career professionals and seasoned industry veterans come together to grow, share, and lead. “It’s welcoming. It’s supportive. And it’s full of women who genuinely want to see each other succeed.”
