NAWIC Cleveland recently partnered with AIA at Camp Ledgewood for an exciting Girl Scouts event, where local Scouts had the chance to earn their architecture badge as part of the STEM-focused Girls Build program. Over the course of the day, the girls worked together to design and build small structures using simple materials like Popsicle sticks, glue, and tape. Guided by volunteers from NAWIC Cleveland and AIA, the girls developed essential skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking.

The architecture badge introduced the Girl Scouts to basic construction and design concepts, encouraging them to think critically about how structures are planned and brought to life. Each participant’s project culminated in the creation of a group map, allowing the girls to visualize how individual contributions can come together to form a community.

This hands-on experience not only introduced the girls to the world of architecture but also empowered them to see themselves as future leaders and builders. NAWIC Cleveland is proud to have been part of this program, helping to inspire the next generation of women in construction and showing them that with creativity, collaboration, and planning, they can truly build big dreams!
